Project Runway Returns
Project Runway will return to television this Thursday after a 10-month break, on a new channel and in a new city, Reuters reports.
The reality fashion competition show will now appear on Lifetime and take place in Los Angeles, opening the door for red carpet challenges.
The popular contest between fashion designers was delayed for months by a dispute between rival networks. The legal conflict was settled in April after the Weinstein Co. agreed to pay NBC for the right to move to Lifetime.
The sixth season will return with a three-hour time slot on Lifetime, Aug. 20. It will be accompanied by a companion series about runway models and an all-star challenge featuring eight favorite designers from past seasons.
Heidi Klum will return as the host of "Project Runway." Judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia are back on board, as well as mentor Tim Gunn.
Filming on the sixth season ended in February. The four finalists sent their collections down the runway anonymously at New York Fashion week and their identities have been kept secret.
"Project Runway's" new sister series, "Models of the Runway," covers the lives of the models who walk the runway each week in the designers' creations. They will also get career advice from Klum, a former Victoria's Secret model.
