Project Runway Season 6 Episode 12 Recap

The last challenge for the remaining five designers, so Heidi Kum sends them with Tim to the Getty Center. Tim claims Project Runway has fully embraced Los Angeles and the city has fully embraced them. Um Tim, it has only been one season. I think he only says that because the major made an appearance.

The designers must use the Getty for inspiration. I am reminded of the same challenge last season at the MET. After a nice tour Gordana finds a Monet painting, and Irina finds a 1895 piece called "Mischief and Repose" by John William Godward. A French bed inspires Carol Hannah, Christopher is captured by a fountain and the bit of green algae growing on it, and Althea like the building itself.

The workroom is filled with lots of squabbling. It is not entertaining. It is annoying. Tim visits. Christopher may not have a "Wow" but a possible "huh." Irina wants a sheer, barely there dress and a fur wrap. Tim told Irina the wrap looked like "road kill." Tim tells Althea her Getty skirt is puckering and needs work. Carol Hannah's dress is elegant and sophisticated but Tim tells her not to do the planned draping over the bodice. Gordana's dress Tim sees the painting and likes it. Gordana is very moved by the painting on a spiritual level and it makes her all teary.

On the runway Nina is back but Michael Kors is not. Former supermodel Cindy Crawford and fashion designer Cynthia Rowley are guest judges. Althea's skirt is described as over worked and the top is under worked. Heidi says it looks like a mess fest, and Althea bite off more then she could chew.

Irina didn't use the road kill wrap and did a goddess drapery. The color and back of the dress is loved but the length is old lady and the shoes are too heavy. Gordana's dress recreated Monet's brushstrokes and it is beautiful but it is safe. The judges start wondering if she can ever take a risk. Carol Hannah's gold dress lacks the inspiration. Maybe she should have draped over the bodice? It is described as a great fit and a safe perfection.

Christopher's dress has a great color, silver draped top but the corset middle and skirt is to stiff. Heidi begins with the questions. She wonders if Christopher is confident in his final challenge look and he starts crying. He is a rock with algae and everyone is art. The important question comes to all of them next. Who do they think should go and compete with them.

Christopher chooses Irina and Carol Hannah. Carol Hannah chooses Christopher and Althea. Irina chooses Althea and Gorgana. Gordana chooses Christopher and Irina. Althea chooses Carol Hannah and Irina.

Irina is going to Bryant Park. Christopher is out. Carol Hannah is in. Althea is in and Gordana is out.

Next week Tim will go to the visit the home of Irina, Carol Hannah and Althea.
