Project Runway Season 6 Episode 13 Recap

It is down to the final three designers on "Project Runway" and for a few months they can leave the workroom, go home and work on their 12-piece collection for Bryan Park. So there is Carol Hannah, Irina, and Althea and they will have $9,000 each to spend on the new collection.

Tim travels to Huntington, N.Y. to visit Carol Hannah. Carol Hannah is inspired by Duke University, the architect and its fairy tale feel. A college? There is a backwards tutu that Tim likes until Carol starts adding bedazzled belts and then he tells her it is too ice-skater. He looks at some of her other dresses and an evening gown. The added cape ages it. Carol has made pants, skirts, and blouses in her collection, which Tim likes.

Time for Tim to meet the family and he must help in the kitchen. Tim keeps the black suit and covers it with a flower, frilly apron. Cute Tim.

Next and not too far away is Irina's visit in Manhattan, N.Y. Her Upper East Side apartment is small and decorated with her sketched collection and tiny poodle Princess. Her clothes are Coney Island inspired where she grew up. We have boyfriend shirts and knitted jackets. It is the rug; I mean fur that Tim dislikes. She also has a dress with descriptions of horsehair and fur where I thought PETA must love Irina. (Sarcasm.)

Tim can breath a sigh of relief. Dinner out with Irina's family is dinner out. Irina's mother is the dreamer. Irina's Dad still needs winning over. A few weeks before the runway show, Tim tells Irina she can't use the Coney Island images because they are copyrighted. She has to come up with her own last minute designs.

Tim must go to Dayton, Ohio to see Althea's work. Before we see Althea's work, we hear she was motivated by science fiction movies. But she wins Tim over with the sweater coat and shapes. She is not in the clear. Tim tells Althea there is a lot of editing because her coat looks costumey and Wild West. It is a nice visit to her family's place.

Althea and Irina end up at the shared room hotel in many uncomfortable silences and a lot of, "where's Carol Hannah?" Wait. Where is Carol Hannah? She is sick with a contagious, stomach virus. But hey, there is champagne from Heidi.

The next day, Carol comes into the workroom looking sick and sounding down. Tim comes in and doesn't like Althea's collection. She must think cohesion. Carol Hannah's collection must add youth. And Irina's collection is black but there is a mix of different material. And the leather pants that Tim says looks like chaps.

Michael Kors and Nina Garcia visit the designers for advice hour. They want to be taken on a ride and Nina says an all black collection is hard and should be avoided. Irina, of course, disagrees.

Tim and Heidi make an appearance and have a final surprise. They have to make one more look. Everyone is shocked and I don't see why. This has happened almost every season. The show brings in Logan, Gordana, and Christopher to help. Althea picks Logan. Carol Hannah gives a look. Irina picks Gordana and Carol Hannah gets Christopher.

The show ends back at the hotel. Carol Hannah is not feeling well again. We are left with Carol Hannah in front of a toilet with a bag of ice on her neck. Sad face.
