'Project Runway' Season 7 Episode 11 Recap

Anthony left last episode. It was heartbreaking. Now there are only six designers left. All the designers are talking about how quiet things are without Anthony. No time to be sad designers the next challenge is designing for a celebrity. What celebrity? Heidi Klum. I know they did this a few episodes before but this time it is different. Instead of an outfit for the cover of Marie Claire it is a look for a red carpet. Heidi wants simple and elegant but it must be a showstopper.

Now before I move forward, realize in the beginning of the episode a designer leaves the competition and if you don’t want to know who, you should STOP READING NOW. Warning received I hope. All the designers go to the workroom to sketch. The camera keeps flashing over to Maya’s workstation. By the third time I’m annoyed. I got it. Maya’s MIA. Where is she? She comes in with Tim to announce she is leaving Project Runway. Maya feels she is not ready as a designer since she just finished school. She tells the others, “I know my limits. I made my decision.”

So Maya’s out and everyone is shocked. You would think PR would leave it at five but no. They bring someone back. Who walks through the door in his “Hey” attitude but ANTHONY! Then Tim calls away Seth. What? Is he leaving to? I can’t take this drama. It’s okay Seth is not leaving but Seth’s model has accepted a job with Donna Karen and now he will get the last model voted out.

Tim’s advice corner has Heidi as a special guest and it’s not as fun. She tells Seth his black number needs a wow factor. Emilio is doing a long mermaid dress and Heidi is worried about difficulty. Heidi hates Jonathan’s fabric. Heidi flashes Jay to show him there is no space between her boobs and everyone is left speechless.

After the advice Jonathan starts on his third dress. Anthony works later then the others so he is given the same amount of time as everyone, which means lack of sleep. Tim says, “Work like there’s no tomorrow because for one of you there won’t be.” Tim, they know. We all know.

Michael, Nina, Heidi and special guest Jessica Alba are judging the runway. Why couldn’t she be the celebrity for the red carpet challenge?

The judges do not like Seth’s long black dress. Nina is worried Seth thinks too much about himself. Michael sees the dress more for the girl carrying the statue. Jessica Alba doesn’t see it as a dress Heidi would wear and Heidi thinks it is missing the wow factor. Heidi, Michael and Nina loves Anthony’s long black and white dress. Jessica Alba sees it as beautiful from all angles. Anthony is speechless.

Michael finds the cleavage to wide on Mila’s dark gray and shiny gold strip dress. Nina finds it more for the Housewives of New Jersey. Emilio’s liquid, sparkly mermaid dress is a hit. Michael finds it impeccable and Nina says his look could have gone the other way. Jessica finds it fits like a glove. Everyone agrees Jay’s short strapless horizontal ruffled shirt makes the butt look big in a bad way. Jonathan’s short draped beige, black, and coral dress is found to be too short for Michael. Nina finds the color choice makes the model look waxy. They love the back of the dress but find the front messy.

There is not one but two winners this episode. Emilio wins and Heidi will wear his dress. Also, Anthony wins and Jessica will wear his dress. Now that is a second chance ending.

Jay and Jonathan are on the bottom. Jay’s big butt dress was not a flattering red carpet dress but Jonathan’s nice detail in back could not save him from the mess in the front. Jonathan is out.
