Queen Hitting the Road

Sarah Fry
Band on tour in 2005, with guest star

The band members of Queen have announced their intention to go on tour with Paul Rodgers in early 2005. This is not the first time the Bad Company singer has performed with Queen- they played together at the band's induction into the U.K. Music Hall of Fame in September. The chemistry between them seemed obvious to guitarist Brian May, who called the tour something of a no brainer.Although the last time Queen (in its entirety) toured, was in 1986 before the late Freddie Mercury began to show signs of AIDS. The surviving members have performed together on a few occasions. These include a memorial for their lead singer and their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The only uncertainty is whether bassist John Deacon will be joining the tour, but one hopes that peer pressure will win out on that issue. According to early reports, the tour will start in the U.K. and the continue to the rest of Europe.
