R. Kelly Acquitted on Child Pornography Charges

After seven and one half hours of deliberations, a Chicago jury found R. Kelly "not guilty" of child pornography charges.

In what has become a highly-publicized case, the popular R&B singer was charged with 14 counts of videotaping, producing or soliciting child pornography, and could have faced up to 15 years in prison, according to AP.

The month-long trial pivoted around the evidence of a videocassette tape allegedly showing Kelly engaging in sexual acts with a minor. The prosecution claimed that the man in the video was Kelly. A key witness for the prosecution said she engaged in a menage-?-trois with Kelly and the underage girl in the video.

The defense argued that unlike Kelly, the man in the video did not have a large mole on his back.

Though Kelly has juggled legal troubles over the last six years, his popularity has been relatively unaffected, and he is set to release a new album in July, according to AP.
