Rachel Ray Undergoes Vocal Surgery

The TV personality underwent a surgery to remove a benign cyst last week.

It's a good thing she is not a singer or the situation might have been more frightening - remember how Julie Andrews lost her singing voice? Food Network TV personality Rachel Ray underwent surgery last week for her vocal cords, something that has been causing trouble for her since last year.

Last December, Ray had previously arranged to have surgery in order to correct the problem but instead opted to solve the problem with intensive vocal therapy.

"After several months of vocal therapy and on the advice of her doctors, Rachael decided to have a benign cyst removed from her vocal cord," her rep, Charlie Dougiello, told People magazine.

The procedure was minor and non-invasive, and Ray is reportedly currently resting at home.

Following the surgical procedure, it seems the hardest thing for Ray to do at the moment is "to be giving her voice a rest for the next week or so."
