Harry Potter is headed to Broadway.

Well, not really.

Daniel Radcliff, the star of the immensely popular Harry Potter films, will make his debut on Broadway September 5, playing the twisted stable boy in a revival of Peter Shaffer's play, "Equus," it was announced Tuesday.

The 18-year-old actor earned grand reviews for his performance in the London version of the Tony Award-winning play. He also received a great deal of media attention for appearing naked on stage - attempting to change his Harry Potter image.

Equus begins previews on September 5, for a short 22-week-span at the Broadhurst Theatre. They play officially opens on Sept. 25 and runs through February 8, 2009. The director of the play will be Thea Sharrock.

The show also stars Richard Griffiths, who plays Harry's Uncle Vernon in the Harry Potter movies, reprises his London role as the psychiatrist who treats Radcliffe's character, who has blinded six horses.
