Radcliffe Will Bare All on Broadway Stage
Star of the Harry Potter films, Daniel Radcliffe, made headlines last year when he starred on the British stage in the revival of Equus. The reason for the headlines was that his role in the play required the star to bare all to his audience. The play was a major success in Britian despite, or partially because of, the 10 minute nude scene.
Now it seems that Americans will get to see what made the play a hit. According to People magazine, Radcliffe will be reviving his role as the psychological drama comes to Broadway. The show will go up at the Broadhurst Theatre for a 22 week run in the fall. Previews will begin in September.
Radcliffe is excited but scared over the prospect of acting on Broadway. He says, "It will be amazing, but I will be terrified because I was talking to [costar] Richard Griffiths about playing New York, and he said the most stupid thing you can do is underestimate New York audiences."
