Radiohead Displeased with Greatest Hits Album
Radiohead are displeased with the release of their greatest hits album, which is being released against their wishes by the band's former label, EMI.
Radiohead made news in recent months with the release of In Rainbows, a record many hailed as the best of the year, digitally on their Web site. As part of the gimmick, fans could pay whatever they pleased for the album, including nothing, initially. In Rainbows was then released with XL, who also put out lead singer Thom Yorke's 2006 solo project, The Eraser.
Expressing his displeasure with EMI's decision, Yorke told The Word: "We haven't really had any hits so what exactly is the purpose?"
Yorke also went on to say: "There's nothing we can do about it. The work is really public property now anyway, in my head at least. It's a wasted opportunity in that if we'd been behind it, and we wanted to do it, then it might have been good."
