Radiohead to Release "Reckoner" for Fans to Play With
Radiohead, it's safe to say, has the greatest fan interaction of any large band. They are also the most creative in presenting their songs in different ways to keep them fresh.
Further support of these two points is in the recent news that the English band will release separate parts of "Reckoner," a song off of In Rainbows, for fans to remix.
What I mean by this is that six "stems" of the track will be available for purchase. From there, fans are allowed to cut up and remix various elements of the song in a similar fashion as the band's "Nude," which was also available to remix earlier in the year.
According to Pitchfork, the separate tracks of "Reckoner" will be available on September 23, although whether the song will be released as a single on the same day is still up in the air.
Back to the stems. They are: lead vocals, backing vocals, guitars, bass, drums and piano/strings.
"Reckoner," which many think is one of the best songs off the band's album, can also be heard in the closing credits of the upcoming movie, Choke.
