Ralph Macchio suffers from a ruptured cyst in his knee

Ralph Macchio has suffered a ruptured cyst in his knee while rehearsing for this week’s episode of Dancing with the Stars. Macchio is currently a contestant on the 12th season of the competitive dancing show.

According to PopEater, the injury could possibly prevent Macchio from dancing on Monday night’s show. Macchio and his professional ballroom dancing partner, Karina Smirnoff, are one of five couples left in the current season.

The cyst is reportedly from a buildup of extraneous fluid behind the knee. The cyst caused the couple to lose four days of rehearsals this week.

Access Hollywood reports that Macchio tweeted Monday to suggest that he will be performing.

He wrote, “Will be rough around the edges w/o rehearse time. But performing with @Karina_Smirnoff for u guys is the hi-light of every week. Hangin in.”
