Rapper Arrested for Driving with a Suspended License
Rapper Coolio was arrested in Hollywood Tuesday morning on an outstanding warrant for driving with a suspended license.
Coolio, real name Artis Leon Ivey, Jr., was driving down Sunset Boulevard around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning when he was pulled over by the Los Angeles police who took notice that the plates on his 1996 gray Hummer were expired, according to latimes.com. Officer April Harding reports he was then booked for driving with a suspended license.
Ivey, 44 was released at 6:40 a.m. He posted $10,000 bail in regards to the misdemeanor. The rapper turned actor turned chef is most notably recognized for his 1995 hit, "Gangster's Paradise." He appeared in the movie Dangerous Minds, starring Michelle Pfeiffer, and now has his own Web-streamed cooking show, "Cooking with Coolio."
