Rapper Joaquin Phoenix Attacks Heckler

Joaquin Phoenix is sharpening his hip-hop skills, but attacks a fan in the process.

Joaquin Phoenix, the actor, seems to be making his next career move into the music business, specifically the hip-hop world. While performing Wednesday night/early Thursday morning at Fountainbleu LIV nightclub on Miami Beach, a fan who was mocking Phoenix's performance was attacked by the performer.

At around 2 a.m., Phoenix was in the middle of rapping when the fan began taunting him. Phoenix, rather than continuing with his performance, began cursing at the crowd and shouted, "I've got $1 million in the bank. What have you got?" just before he leaped into the audience and attacked the heckler. The audience supported the "rapper" by chanting for Phoenix to beat up the fan. Neither the heckler nor anyone else in the audience was hurt because security responded quickly and took Phoenix backstage away from the crowd.

Casey Affleck (Phoenix's brother-in-law) caught the whole incident on video, which may be used in a future documentary the two are working on.

Keep an eye out for Phoenix's next performance. One cynic is not going to stop the rapper in his new hip-hop career.
