Ray Winstone to bloom in ‘Night Flower’
“The Departed’s” Ray Winstone is reteaming with “Sexy Beast” writer David Scinto for Scinto’s directorial debut entitled “Night Flower.”
According to an article on HollywoodReporter.com, “Brit sales outfit AV Pictures is hawking the project, described as a ‘terrifying romantic thriller,’ at the European Film Market in Berlin.’”
Ben Whishaw, who starred in the 2009 romantic biographical drama "Bright Star" and Andrew Garfield, who starred in the 2009 mystery fantasy adventure film "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” which also starred Johnny Depp, Heath Ledger, Jude Law, Christopher Plummer and Colin Farrell, are in negotiations to join the cast.
The HollywoodReporter.com article goes on to say that, “In addition to writing and directing ‘Night Flower,’ Scinto will also produce the film together with Bobby Allen and Jade Bell. James Wilson (‘Shaun of the Dead’) is on board as an executive producer.’”
Shooting on “Night Flower” is slated to begin in the fall.
Winstone’s past credits include the 2008 action adventure “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” opposite Harrison Ford/Cate Blanchett/Karen Allen/Shia LaBeouf, the 2008 Matthew McConaughey/Kate Hudson/Donald Sutherland romantic comedy “Fool’s Gold,” the 2007 Robert Zemeckis-directed animated action adventure film “Beowulf,” which also featured the voices of Robin Wright Penn and Anthony Hopkins and the 2005 action adventure fantasy film “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” which also starred Tilda Swinton/James McAvoy/Jim Broadbent.
