Real Housewife Bensimon Arrested For Assaulting Boyfriend

Kelly Bensimon, one of the "Real Housewives of New York CIty" was arrested for assaulting Nick Stefanov.

According to People magazine, Kelly Bensimon was arrested Mar. 5 on charges she allegedly punched her boyfriend, Nick Stefanov.

Bensimon, 40, is one of the stars on the reality TV show, "The Real Housewives of New York City."

The New York Police Department told People magazine, "She was arrested on March 5 at 9:10 a.m. for punching her fiance in the face, and [she] gave him a laceration under his left eye. She was arrested for assault – it's a misdemeanor."

Based on reports, Bensimon got into a physical fight with Stefanov, ending with Stefanov having a black eye and a gash on his cheek. He exited the apartment after the incident and went to a police precinct.

Stephen Turano, Bensimon's lawyer said she has, "entered a plea of not guilty. We are confident that the charges are unfounded and we look forward to a quick resolution."

A source close to Bensimon says the two are not engaged as was previously thought. "[Stefanov] is claiming that they were engaged, which is delusional. They have been on-and-off for three to three-and-a-half years, and during that time they were never exclusive. She was always dating other people."

Bensimon surrendered to police and has been charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault. She is due to face the charge in court on March 31.
