'The Real Housewives of Orange County' recap
There were cat fights, tears and tantrums on Sunday night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
Peggy’s highly anticipated, ultra exclusive dinner party has finally arrived and no one is more excited than the host herself. She’s hired a celebrity chef, flown in her singer-friend and prepared a beautiful table to go along with the fancy gathering she and her hubby have created.
Earlier in the day, news spread that Gretchen’s boyfriend, Slade, owes some serious past due child support so it’s no surprise to the ladies when he’s a no show at Peggy’s party. Gretchen says he’s spending time with his sons, but the ladies don't believe her and, although she makes it her business to comment on everyone else, she says her and Slade's life are nobody's business.
Alexis arrives sans her other half too and is visibly upset for some unknown reason. She blames work for keeping Jim away from the party, something that hits a nerve with Peggy but she later reveals that Jim really didn’t want to be around the housewives. Throughout the entire party she is Miss Dramatic and spends the majority of the time in the bathroom crying over being by herself. When Peggy tries explaining that she’s at a dinner party, so she needs to control herself or leave, the devoted Christian calls the host a “witch.” After she finally gets herself together, she spends the rest of the evening dancing with Gretchen and laughing her sorrows away.
The ladies finally get to meet Tamra’s new boyfriend and, after a drama filled evening, Vicki gives her stamp of approval to Eddie.
Throughout dinner the division between the ladies becomes even more evident and as each week progresses it becomes more and more like mean girl’s syndrome. Even Peggy is starting to get fed up with the childish antics of the housewives but can’t seem to stay out of the drama as her friendship with Alexis is slowly crumbling.
Next week, Tamra finally reveals what happened between her and her trainer, Fernanda. We also see the beginning stages of Vicki’s marriage falling apart and the drama continues between Alexis and Peggy.
