December 16, 2005, Jessica Simpson filed a divorce petition of irreconcilable differences in the Los Angeles Superior Court, from Husband Nick Lachey of three years. As of November 23, 2005, the couple had announced their separation, due to tabloid speculation that they were having trouble in the marriage. The couple is known for their MTV reality show the Newlyweds and The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour. Jessica Simpson, 25, has gained more popularity since the marriage and as of last year earned $30 million dollars. She just recently starred as Daisy Duke in the movie Dukes of Hazzard. And she also came out with her own cosmetic line, in stores now. Nick Lachey, 32, was a member of the boy band 98 Degrees and had more earning power prior to the marriage, and as of 2003 released his solo album, entitled SoulO. They have no children together or form other marriages. The marriage is a first for both.
