Reasons Behind Celebrity Baby Names

Celebrities choose unique names for a reason.

It is no secret that some celebrities are concocting some interesting names for their children, but there has to be a reason behind it, right?

Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban gave birth to a baby girl, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban, on July 7.

According to the Daily News, this intriguing name was influenced by Sunday Reed, who was a muse to Sidney Nolan, an early 20th-century artist.

"I have read a bit about Sunday Reed and her husband, John - she was a key mover and shaker in the arts around the beginning of the century," Kidman's father told Australia's Daily Telegraph.

Grandpa Kidman was the one who suggested the name to his daughter and son-in-law.

Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves welcomed little boy Levi Alves McConaughey yesterday.

One might think that they named their son after their favorite pair of jeans but no such luck.

"'Levi' was another name for the apostle, 'Matthew,' in the Bible," McConaughey wrote on his Web site.

"They were, in fact, two names for the same person."

The boy was born at 6:22 p.m., which coincidentally is McConaughey's "favorite verse" in the book of Matthew in the Bible.

"People make a big fuss over names," Coldplay frontman and father of Apple and Moses, Chris Martin, told Blender magazine.

"There's nothing weird about calling your baby Chewbacca if that's what you want to call your baby. . . . A name is just a noise, and if you like it, then f--- what everyone else says."
