Contrary to Internet rumors, Reba McEntire is not dead.
Us Weekly reported the country crooner is very much alive and not too happy about earlier reports of her alleged death.
"There is a rumor going around that I died after falling off a mountain in Austria yesterday while shooting a movie," she blogged on Tuesday. "While I would love to be shooting a movie in Austria, I definitely did not fall off a mountain! Nor am I dead! I am alive and kicking!!!"
According to People, the original report that the 56-year-old had died came from a website called “Global Media News,” which not only falsely wrote that McEntire had died, but referred to her an “actress” as opposed to what she’s more well known for, her singing.
The website also posted a disclaimer telling readers that the reports it posts aren’t true at all.
"This story is 100% fake! This is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes” it read.
She’s hardly the first celebrity to be the target of false death reports. Earlier this month rumors of Cher’s death blew up the Internet.
The 65-year-old promptly took to her Twitter to clear the air.
"Lovelies…I'm not going anywhere till I finish this f--king album," she wrote. "The only RIP I know how to do is 'rip it up.'"
Nice to know everyone is still alive.
