Rebecca Black Spoofs Herself in a Mock Trailer for Apocalyptic Film ‘Sunday Comes Afterwards’

Rebecca Black the hero?

Rebecca Black made a quick rise to fame with her catchy but heavily criticized video and song, “Friday.” Such simple lyrics like, “Yesterday was Thursday. Today is Friday. Tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards,” and a reoccurring dilemma of which seat to take in the car have unfortunately, for Black, caused the song to be named ”the worst song ever” by many. It also has more “dislikes” on YouTube than there are “likes.”

Black’s popularity comes from the video’s “subpar production values, grating hooks and extraordinarily stupid lyrics," according to Rolling Stone.

But nonetheless, Black’s song, which has been viewed over 77 million times, has garnered support from such big names as Lady Gaga, Simon Cowell and Katy Perry, Celebuzz reports.

Black is taking all the criticism in stride, spoofing herself in a new apocalyptic film, Sunday Comes Afterwards. It's not a real film, however. Black teamed up with the Web site, Funny or Die, to make a mock trailer based on her simple lyrics.

“I am not looking forward to this weekend,” Black says as an alien invasion begins to occur. She becomes the unlikely hero of the “film” telling uncertain citizens, “Life goes on, tomorrow is Saturday and Sunday comes afterwards. I don’t want this world to end!” she shrieks.
