Recap: Life Unexpected Gets Inspected

The second episode of the new CW series 'Life Unexpected' confronts the new parents with the life their daughter had been living.
Lux's social worker has come to inspect the homes of her parents, Cate and Baze, to make sure they can provide a safe home for her.
Baze lives above a bar and decides to throw a party the night before the social worker comes over leaving the house trashed and beer bottles are all around and a bong turned into a nightlight as well as a blow-up sheep.

The radio station Cate works at is trying to do some damage control by having her make an on-air statement saying she never was pregnant in high school. But what Cate doesn't know is that Lux has heard her mother deny her yet again.

Lux is torn between a life with her boyfriend, Bug, and best friend Natasha or a life with her new parents. Lux's friends try to get her back and try to stick together and point out all the things that have happened in previous foster homes and with former parents. When Cate comes to look for Lux at her best friends' apartment she is confronted with the harsh truth about the life Lux lived before she came back to find her birth parents.

Cate is struggling to keep her own life under control, being the perfectionist that she is. Her house looks spotless, but for the social worker Cate wants to know how to cook and prepares a beautiful new room for Lux.

Baze starts doubting his abilities and treats everything like a joke, but when his friend points out how lucky he truly is. Baze steps up and starts driving Lux to school and is visibly upset near the end of the episode when Cate is granted full custody of Lux.
