Red Wings Franzen Out for Four Months

Detroit Red Wings forward Johan Franzen will miss at least four months of the season.

As if news could not get any worse for the city of Detroit, USA Today reports Detroit Red Wings forward Johan Franzen will miss at least four months of action due to a torn ACL in his left knee. Franzen injured his knee is Thursday night's victory over the Chicago Blackhawks, where he scored the game-winning goal.
According to the Detroit Free Press, Franzen, 29, is one of the teams largest forwards, standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing in at 220 lbs. The National Post states Franzen's loss is a huge blow to the Red Wings offense. In his only three games this season, Franzen recorded a goal and an assist.
