Redmond O'Neal sentenced to rehab
The son of the late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal, Redmond O'Neal, was arrested almost five months ago for bringing heroin into a jail. He and a friend were just visiting the Pitchess Detention Center when deputies proceeded to search the car and found the drugs. After pleading no contest to the charges on Friday, he was sentenced to a minimum of a year in a drug treatment program.
O'Neal was transferred form Pitchess to the Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Pasadena, California. If he should violate his probation again there are said to be stiff consequences.
People reported, "Superior Court Judge Graciela Freixes ordered three years of formal probation and a six-year suspended state prison sentence." He had committed the offense while out on bail for another drug related offense.
O'Neal had been in jail during the time of his mother's last few days. She lost her battle with cancer on June 26. He was released for a few hours in order to attend the funeral.
