Kathie Lee Gifford will make an appearance on "Live with Regis and Kelly."

Kathie Lee Gifford will make an appearance for the 20th anniversary of "Live with Regis and Kelly" next month.

Gifford joined the program in 1985, when it was still known as "The Morning Show" and only shown on New York's ABC affiliate. It was renamed "Live with Regis and Kathie Lee" when the show went into national syndication in 1988.

She left the show in July 2000 after serving as co-host with Regis Philbin for 15 years. Kelly Ripa became the permanent replacement after a revolving door of guest hosts in February 2001.

The show will kick off its 20th anniversary celebration on Sept. 3, culminating in Kathie Lee Gifford's appearance on Sept. 14. The show will look back on its more memorable moments since it began its run.

"Live with Regis and Kelly" is currently watched by 3.7 million viewers every morning, trailing behind "Oprah" and "Dr. Phil" in syndicated talk show ratings.
