Remembering Billy Mays

Pallbearers and friends wore OxiClean button-downs to the salesman's funeral.

Billy Mays's funeral was held at the St. Mary Church in his hometown of McKees Rocks, Pa., on Friday, according to realitytvworld.com.

According to the Associated Press, most of the mourners were wearing stickers of a cartoon of the bearded salesman and the pallbearers wore Mays-style blue OxiClean button-downs, instead of traditional suits in honor of Mays.

Mays earned his fame selling products like OxiClean, Orange Glo and Wash-matik. Discovery Channel recently created a show starring the energetic salesman and his longtime sales partner, Anthony Sullivan, called "Pitchmen."

At the funeral, "Pitchmen" Creator and Executive Producer Chris Wilson said of Mays, "Billy had an amazing way of just making you believe that everything he said was true. He didn't sell you, he told you," the AP reported.

The Discovery Channel will be airing "Pitchmen: A Tribute to Billy Mays" on Thursday, July 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Though there will be a small break in airing his commercials, Media Enterprises will resume airing Billy Mays's commercials for Mighty Tape and Super Pack on July 11, according to realitytvworld.com.
