Report: Kobe Bryant’s ex-wife gets $75 million and three mansions in divorce settlement

Vanessa Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant’s soon-to-be ex-wife, will win a huge pay day in the divorce settlements, according to reports on Friday. The couple reportedly did not have a prenuptial agreement, so Vanessa will walk away with $75 million, about half of the couple’s wealth, and three mansions the couple owned in Southern California.

TMZ reported Friday morning that sources close to the agreement told the site that the property settlement has been signed and agreed to, awarding Vanessa $75 million. The couple’s total assets had been reported to be as much as $150 million.

Vanessa also won the couple’s three Newport Beach-area mansions including the one she lives in, the one her mother lives in and one a new one that she had been building for the past two years, TMZ reported.

According to KTLA, court documents revealed that Vanessa is seeking joint custody of their two children, Natalia and Gianna. The final divorce settlement is not expected to be filed until sometime next year.

Vanessa has never exactly said publicly why she suddenly filed to end their 11-year marriage in December, according to The New York Post. "The Bryants have resolved all issues incident to their divorce privately with the assistance of counsel and a judgment dissolving their marital status will be entered in 2012,” Kobe and Vanessa said in a joint statement released at the time.

In 2003, Vanessa stood by Kobe when he was accused of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old woman. The case was dropped, but Kobe admitted to having sex with the woman. There were reports that Vanessa had finally had enough of Kobe’s alleged affairs, which may have led to the divorce, notes the Post.
