Report: Scorsese to Direct Sinatra Film

The news comes on the same day Scorsese dropped out of Bob Marley biopic.

Going along a similar type of gangster movie/biopic trend that Martin Scorsese is known for, it would make sense that the famed director would be interested in directing a movie about Frank Sinatra.

According to Sinatra's daughter, Tina, Scorsese will do a Sinatra film that will attempt to set the record straight, so to speak, about the legendary singer (who had another greatest hits style album released last week).

"Marty always wanted to tell the truth about (Sinatra)," Tina said.

The thing that's most obvious about this story is that, well, first off, who knows if there's truth in this because there has yet to be an official announcement about Scorsese's plans (even though he just dropped out of a Bob Marley biopic because of "scheduling conflicts"). And second, the most important thing about the Sinatra movie would be the casting of the lead role. Movies like Walk the Line (with Joaquin Phoenix) and The Aviator (Leonardo DiCaprio) were successful because of the great actors that played Johnny Cash and Howard Hughes, respectively.
