Questions at the Republican debate in Iowa are to focus on the country's current financial situation as well as immigration issues. The debate, sponsored by the Des Moines Register and Iowa Public Television, marks the last time that the GOP Presidential hopefuls will appear on the same stage before January 3rd. Questions to be asked include ones such as what sacrifices would the candidates ask Americans to make in order to lower the country's debt, and will address other topics important to Iowan voters. Because this is a major debate for Republican hopefuls, tension is also rising between them. Republican strategist Cheri Jacobus states, "This is the last chance really for folks to get to really take a good close look at these candidates...The problem and the way these folks have to finesse during this debate is they have to be able to draw the contest without going negative." And hopefully the contestants will be able to do just that in Iowa.
