Reverend Calls Tiger to the Altar
Everyone has their opinions on Tiger Woods, his infedility, and the resulting crumbling of his life around him, but some choose more active roles than others. Take Rev. Brit Hume, for instance. His solution for Tiger? Conversion, conversion, conversion.
Hume sparked controversy when he went a little overboard on “Fox News Sunday” during a panel discussion. Not only did he publicly slam Buddhism, claiming that Christianity is superior to all other religions, but he brought Tiger into the mix by issuing an altar call.
Wow, Tiger. You may be the only guy who can have both prostitutes and preachers trying to capitalize off your fame.
Of course, Hume has been receiving a bucket of criticism since, but he just shrugs it off. In an interview with WTOP News radio, he reaffirmed his stance on Christianity's superiority, saying it's "uniquely and especially about redemption and forgiveness." In other words, the perfect outlet for Tiger right about now.
It makes sense that Tiger should resort to a moral makeover, but shoving beliefs down throats never work. Alas, whether Tiger responds to the altar call or not, I'm sure America will be watching.
