Actor Ricardo Chavira was arrested early Tuesday morning in Los Angeles for reportedly driving under the influence.
According to Us Magazine, the 39-year-old, who plays Eva Longoria’s husband on Desperate Housewives, was pulled over at approximately 2:00am on Tuesday for a routine traffic stop.
After authorities purportedly smelled alcohol on Chavira’s breath, the actor underwent and failed a field sobriety test, reports TMZ.
When Chavira refused to take a breathalyzer or blood test, he was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Police transported the actor to a local jail where he was later released after posting $25,000 bail.
Chavira plays businessman Carlos Solis on the ABC hit comedy-drama, Desperate Housewives. Solis is married to Longoria’s character, former model Gabrielle. The popular TV show, which airs on Sunday nights, is currently in its seventh season.
