Rihanna Begins Filming Her Debut Movie
Rihanna, who is best known for such number one singles as "Umbrella," "Disturbia," and "Rude Boy," is making her big screen debut in the upcoming board game-inspired movie adaptation of Battleship, MTV.com reports.
The movie is about naval officer’s who use Earth’s battleships to fight aliens. The film is said to be “quite different from the board game,” and will most likely not film in 3-D like so many other movies out currently.
A photo of Rihanna, in character, surfaced Wednesday showing her with brown hair wearing a traditional U.S Navy uniform, with gloves, boots, and a nametag that read “Raikes.”
Filming is taking place in Hawaii where Rihanna is set to film for two weeks. The movie’s other stars include True Blood actor Alexander Skarsgard, who is playing a commander of one of the Navy destroyers, Friday Night Lights star Taylor Kitch, and model Brooklyn Decker.
The Peter Berg-directed sci-fi flick, Battleship, debuts in theaters May 25, 2012.
