Singer Rihanna has gotten on PETA’s bad side again by wearing ostrich feathers at a recent public appearance to promote her Reb’l Fleur perfume in London.
Although she made the appearance back on Aug. 20, according to Style Bistro, PETA waited until yesterday to release a statement.
PETA claims that wearing the green ostrich feather outfit is flaunting stolen property. A spokeswoman for the group said that, "[She] is flaunting stolen property, in this case feathers possibly plucked right off their rightful owners' backs,” according to Vibe.
The organization, which is supported by celebrities like Eva Mendes and Cloris Leachman, went even further. The spokeswoman said that because of Rihanna’s history with domestic abuse from her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, she should be more sympathetic to other victims of violence. “We keep hoping that Rihanna, a victim of violence herself, will learn to open her heart and start empathizing with the suffering of others,” the organization added, reports Eurweb.
Rihanna was recently named the Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire readers, according to Gigwise.
