Chris Brown receives his sentence for assault against ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Chris Brown sentenced for assaulting Rhianna in Los Angeles

After a history of physically harming the Barbados-born pop star, Chris Brown has been sentenced to six months of community service, a year of domestic abuse counseling, a large amount of fines and fees, and is now banned from seeing his ex-love for 5 years.

A history of domestic violence makes it difficult for the protective order to be lifted.MTV News had legal expert Peter T. Haven to analyze the court order. He concluded, "If he violates [anything], it'll be a violation against his whole plea agreement."

Speaking of Brown's hard labor charge, Haven goes on to explain that, "[Brown is] gonna have to get up early in the morning, drive somewhere to catch a bus with the other people serving, and he has to work out on the highway all day. That is not easy."
