Rihanna May Testify Against Chris Brown

The world may finally hear Rihanna's first-person account of her alleged assault by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, nearly five months after the original incident on February 8.

After a hearing in Los Angeles on Thursday, Rihanna's lawyer, Donald Etra, said that prosecutors intend to subpoena the 21-year-old singing sensation to appear at a June 22 hearing so that the court can determine whether or not there is enough evidence to proceed with a trial.

"The DA has advised me that she will be subpoenaed [to testify]," Etra said. "She absolutely will comply."

The DA confirmed that Brown's lawyer, Mark Geragos, attempted to gain access to police records to learn who leaked a picture of Rihanna's injuries. However, he was denied, according to Entertainment Weekly, but he will have the right to cross-examine Rihanna when she takes the stand.

Brown, 20, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He could face up to four years and eight months in prison.
