Pop star Rihanna has become a fashion icon around the world, so it only makes sense that she would sign on to work on a fashion reality show. On Thursday, it was announced that Rihanna has signed on to produce and appear in a UK fashion show for the Sky Living HD network.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the untitled 10-part series will act as the “We Found Love” singer’s television debut. It will be hosted by Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts.

In Sky Living’s announcement, the network said that the show will feature Rihanna searching for new designer talent while celebrating the “...extraordinary talent and creativity of the British fashion scene.”

Rihanna is not going to be the only musician or celebrity to appear on the show, though. Us Weekly reports that throughout the series, the designers will be able to come up with outfits for other musicians and celebrities who will appear as guests throughout the series. The grand prize for the winner will be the chance to design Rihanna’s outfit for her July London concert.

Sky Living added that Rihanna will be involved at every level of the show’s production, including editing in post-production. “I have been very fortunate to work with some truly amazing designers and stylists throughout my career, and they have been instrumental in making sure my creative vision reaches the stage. I am excited to follow the journey of our aspiring contestants and see how their individuality influences their efforts during the course of the show,” Rihanna said in the statement.

Roberts, who was hand-picked by Rihanna to host the show, said that she was “flattered” when she was asked to join the show. “I'm so excited for us to get started on finding a new up-and-coming British designer who just needs a chance - a little bit of help in getting their skills noticed,” Roberts said.

The show begins airing summer of 2012.
