Rihanna Working on New, "Edgier" Album
Rihanna is currently back in the studio working on her fifth studio album.
According to fellow singer Ne-Yo, who is in the studio helping her write songs, the material on this album is going to be "edgier" and "angrier" than what we've heard before, he revealed to E! News.
"[She] says some things on this album that you've never heard her say before," says Ne-Yo.
Many speculate that this newfound anger and edge stem from the February assault against her by former beau Chris Brown. Brown was sentenced last month for felony assault and received a punishment of five years probation and six months community service, according to Popeater.
Another singer in the studio with Rihanna is Akon. However, he wishes to help Rihanna soften up her music. "I'm going to lighten her up. I don't want an angry Rihanna," says Akon.
No date has been set for the album's release.
