Rihanna's Valentine's Day and Performances Marred by Assault

Rihanna postpones scheduled performances after this weekend's assault by boyfriend Chris Brown.

Rihanna, the 20 year old singing sensation, her concert in Malaysia that was scheduled for this Friday, February 13th. Los Angeles police have finally released that Rihanna was indeed the victim of Chris Brown's assault this weekend, after originally refusing to reveal the victim's identity citing domestic abuse victim confidentiality.

The squabble turned physical occurred this weekend after the couple left Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party and drove in their rented Lambo. Brown left the scene before police arrived after Rihanna's 911 call, but was arrested later Sunday night and released after posting $50,000 bail.

It is unsure with what Brown will be officially charged as the District Attorney's office requested more investigation into the situation by the LAPD. Brown is staying in an LA hotel and has also canceled some appearances scheduled for this week. Rihanna has reportedly left Cedars-Sinai where witnesses saw her being treated for her "horrific" bruises and is in seclusion in an undisclosed location.

Reps from neither side have as of yet said if either singer will attend the NAACP Image Awards this Thursday where both are nominated for outstanding recording artist. However, it is clear that Brown will not be nominated as boyfriend of the year, and as Rihanna cooperates with police, one has to wonder if this duo will work things out in time for Valentine's Day on Saturday.
