Rob Zombie Set to Direct Next "Halloween" Film
Michael Fleming of Variety.com reports that Dimension Films and Rob Zombie are teaming up for another chapter of Halloween, which is anticipated to be ready for release in, appropriately enough, October.
Zombie will write and direct H2, the sequel to his 2007 reinvention of the John Carpentar horror classic. Production is slated to begin in March.
Halloween, Zombie's third film as a director and largest-grossing film to date, brought in $31 million in its opening weekend, more than both of his previous films combined.
Although Zombie's next film was going to be Tyrannosaurus Rex, which was to be about an aging wrestler battling a vicious motorcycle gang, Zombie instead has chosen to direct his attention to H2, stating that he hasn't even completed the script for Tyrannosaurus Rex.
Aside from preparing for H2, Zombie has been recording his fourth studio album, set for release in 2009, and issued to song "War Zone," which appeared on the soundtrack for the new film, Punisher: War Zone. He also recently released the long-awaited boxed set from his previous band, White Zombie, called Let Sleeping Corpses Lie. It was released last month.
