Rob Zombie to Write and Direct Sequel to "Halloween" Remake

H2 green-lit to be written and directed by Rob Zombie.

Horror fans are in luck in 2009; with the Friday the 13th remake coming out in February and now a sequel to Halloween being rushed for an October release, they will be rushing to the box office.

Rob Zombie has officially signed on to write and direct a sequel to his 2007 hit, titled H2, according to Variety, despite previous remarks that he was opposed to doing a sequel.

"I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again," Zombie said. "Now, we'll be hauling ass, and that's the problem making a movie called 'Halloween': If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I'd be fine."

The success of Halloween will draw audiences to the theater for H2, which is from the point of view of iconic horror villain Michael Myers and will pick up right where Zombie left off in his last film. Zombie just finished The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, an animated film, and his highly anticipated project, Tyrannosaurus Rex, is reportedly being put on hold for the push of H2.
