CBS has finally scheduled its final new show for the 2011-2012 television season. The show, a cop drama about rookies called NYC 22 and produced by actor Robert De Niro, will premiere on Sunday, April 15 at 10 p.m.

According to Deadline, the show will take over CSI: Miami’s slot. That show’s season was trimmed to just 19 episodes this season and will air its season finale the week before April 15. NYC 22, which was once known as The 2-2 or simply Rookies, will take over the slot immediately.

The Wrap reports that the series stars Terry Kinney, Adam Goldberg, Leelee Sobieski, Stark Sands, Judy Marte, Harold "House" Moore, Tom Reed and Felix Solis. De Niro is listed as one of the many executive producers on the show, including his Tribeca Productions partner Jane Rosenthal. Other executive producers include the series creator, The Wire’s Richard Price, Ken Sanzel and James Mangold. CBS Television Studios is producing the series.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show centers on six rookie cops who patrol upper Manhattan. They must balance their duty to the people they protect, their boss and themselves.

The Good Wife will continue to air at 9 p.m., acting as a lead-in to the new series. CBS, which ordered the series last May, did not announce how many episodes of NYC 22 will be produced.
