Robert Downey Jr. welcomes son Exton Elias

Robert Downey Jr. is a daddy! Again!

The actor's wife Susan Downey gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 7:24 a.m., according to People.com. "Everyone is healthy and they couldn't be happier," said a friend of the couple.

Baby Exton Elias Downey weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. and measured 20 inches long at birth. This is the couples' first child together, though Downey has an older son, Indio, from his previous marriage.

Downey blurted out the sex of the baby on national television when he appeared on The Tonight Show in 2011, even after strict instructions from his wife to keep it quiet. Us Weekly reported that Downey joked that the pregnancy has been harder on him than on his wife. "I think actually it's been tougher on me," he told Jay Leno in the interview. "Just the hormones and the moods stuff and the nausea, and the whole thing."

After the slip up on The Tonight Show, Downey knew better than to release the name of the baby before the birth. During the premier of his film Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, the actor told reporters that he would be in big trouble if he had another slip up. "If I told you the name, then [Susan] would lop off my head with a machete," he said.

Maybe now that mom and baby are both doing well and the name has been announced, Downey can finally stop referring to his son as "Bubba."
