Robert Pattinson Hit by Taxi

Pattinson was grazed by a cab in New York City while attempting to evade a hoard of fans.

Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson was clipped by a taxi while running from fans in New York City.

While filming "Remember Me," Pattinson attempted to run across the street outside of the Strand bookstore on Broadway and 12th Street to escape a group of fans when he collided with a moving cab, reports People magazine. The driver slammed on his breaks upon impact. Pattinson appeared stunned, but walked away unharmed.

According to Entertainment Weekly, one of the members of the 23-year-old actor's security team yelled, "You see what you did, you almost killed him!" to the crowd.

A spokeswoman for the film production company said that the reports are exaggerated and that Pattinson's fans did not cause the incident, N.Y. Daily News reports.

Pattinson, who was dubbed "Most Handsome Man in the World" in a recent Vanity Fair online poll, has been mobbed by fans throughout filming. Because of the constant attention, he has hired his own security in addition to the bodyguards provided by Summit Entertainment, People magazine reports.
