Robert Pattinson: 'I can't remember what my normal life is like'
Robert Pattinson doesn't like Twitter, watching himself on the screen, can't take compliments, and isn't so sure he likes his character, Edward Cullen.
In an interview with UK's Daily Record, the "Twilight" star talked about dealing with life in the limelight.
"I can't remember what my normal life is like," he said. "Because of internet stuff and Twitter, there will be a crowd if you are in a place for more than half an hour."
Pattinson said that he's "learned to never stay in the same place for more than 20 minutes."
He describes himself as "a quiet, private person" and finds his "biggest challenge is coping with the crowds."
"It's strange. You have to change a little bit," he said.
Not only is Pattinson not comfortable with the massive attention he receives, but he doesn't take compliments very well either. In fact, he shared he doesn't like watching himself on the screen. He even got a panic attack at the "Twilight" premiere, he said.
"I am not very good at taking compliments," Pattinson said. He's not very interested in accepting compliments, but agrees when someone says he's "bad or something," he said.
All of this attention can be attributed to his role as Edward Cullen. Although he likes playing the role of the vampire, he reveals he doesn't know if he likes him "as a person."
"He's a little straight-laced for my liking," he said. "He is not rebellious. I think that should be respected."
As he tries to adjust his life to the fame, Pattinson admits he would read the "toxic" internet gossip, but ultimately decided "You can't let yourself be dictated by anonymous faces."
"I don't think I have to prove anything to anyone," he said.
