Robin Wright Penn Files for Divorce

Robin Wright Penn filed for divorce on Aug. 12 from husband, Sean Penn. Filed in Marin County, California, the reason for the split was said to be "irreconcilable differences." "Both parties have already agreed to [shared] custody of their son Hopper Jack, 16," and "the estranged couple has already agreed to division of all property."

The couple has filed for divorce two times before this only to reconcile as recently as May. They have been a couple since 1989 and married in 1996. They have another child, daughter Dylan Frances, 18, who is heading off to college this fall.

Robin told "More" magazine in an interview that she had no plans to reconcile with her husband. "I hit that crossroad a while ago," she said. "I know what I don't want."


Robin is best known for roles in "The Princess Bride," and Forrest Gump." Sean has won an Oscar twice, most recently for his role in 2008's "Milk." The couple has appeared in several movies together since 1990's "State of Grace."
