'Robot Chicken' Creators Embark on a Reality TV Experiment
The creators of Cartoon Network’s Robot Chicken, Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, are launching an online reality TV experiment in which viewers will decide every major decision a person makes for six weeks.
The show is called Control TV and is about a twenty-something who is told what to wear, what to eat, where to work, and who to date in real time by an online audience.
Ford and Sprint Nextel are partnering with Green and Senreich as advertisers. The show’s protagonist will drive a 2011 Ford Fiesta and Sprint phones will be use on the program.
"Control TV places the audience in complete control of a show for the first time ever, and we are eager to learn what they will decide for our protagonist," Green said. "We are thrilled to partner with DBG, Ford, and Sprint on this groundbreaking new form of entertainment."
Other producers involve in Control TV are Richard Saperstein, Ken Fuchs, Stephen Kessler, and interactive technology expert Craig Ullman.
"This show combines the voyeuristic pleasure of reality TV with the experience of control we get from video games," Saperstein said. "Plus, it's all going to play out in real time. The concept takes interactivity to a whole new level, and we think it will be highly addictive."
The show launches in the fall on the DBG Video Network.
