'Robot Chicken' Scratches Up Two More Seasons
Robot Chicken, the stop-motion animated hit on Cartoon Network's late night replacement, Adult Swim, has been renewed for an additional two seasons. This ensures that the 15-minute show will reach its sixth season, with the channel ordering 40 new episodes.
The show remains popular since its February 2005 debut. Created by Family Guy star Seth Green and producer Matthew Senreich, the show features crudely designed claymation and action figures in short bursts of satirical skits.
Despite its often outlandish and bizarre sense of humor, the show has featured a wide range of guest stars, including Scarlett Johanson, Sigourney Weaver, and former N'Sync member Joey Fatone training under Pat Morita's tutelage in what would unfortunately be one of Morita's last performances. The show has even lampooned Star Wars in two officially sanctioned parodies, which featured George Lucas and his cast voicing action figure versions of themselves and their characters. This renewal will ensure that fans will be treated to even more rapid-fire pop culture humor starring some of their favorite celebrities.
