The Rolling Stones Rock Boston
It is no surprise that fans who attended Sunday night's opening of the Stones 2005-06 world tour at Boston's Fenway Park, were amazed like always as the gondola-like stage and huge inflatable animation fa?ade. The opening song "Start Me up" was a great beginning to the twenty-two song set played by the Stones.
Along with playing new hits, the Stones played old favorites such as, "Beast of Burden," and "Shattered." The Stones also imprisoned the strength of Ray Charles' jazzy style as well as Jagger's duet with blues goddess Lisa Ficher.
There was a lack of political tone at the concert when the band chose not to perform the controversial song "Sweet Neo Con." The lyrics of the tune are critical of George Bush.
However, Jagger did recognize that Arnold Schwarzenegger, Governor of California was at the show.
The Stones, even with their elevated ticket prices, gave a performance worthy of the cost.
