Rosie O'Donnell Calls Palin and Hasselbeck "Identical Cousins"
Even after distancing herself from the staple Republican of The View by leaving the show last year, Rosie O'Donnell still has some fighting words for Elizabeth Hasselbeck, according to Fox News.
O'Donnell took to her blog over the weekend to liken Hasselbeck to the Republican Party's vice presidential nominee, Sarah Palin.
O'Donnell wrote the following:
sarah p - elisabeth h
identical cousins
women who hunt in high heels
gives one pause
The openly liberal O'Donnell chose to leave The View in 2007 after an on-air verbal altercation with the openly conservative Hasselbeck.
O'Donnell also referred to Hasselbeck as "a little Republican who scared me" during a guest spot on The Martha Stewart Show in April.
The on-air altercation included O'Donnell decrying Hasselbeck during a political discussion over the Iraq War for not defending her when various media outlets suggested that O'Donnell called the troops "terrorists" during a previous debate.
Hasselbeck is also in political hot water after she joked about the difference between the potential First Ladies, Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama, at the GOP convention. When the women were backstage as guests for The View, Hasslebeck said McCain showed up "fresh as can be" because she had nothing to hide, while saying that Obama showed up with a list of topics the ladies were not allowed to touch.
Many have criticized Hasselbeck for publicizing backstage moments of The View, claiming there is an unwritten rule to leave those moments backstage.
