Rosie O'Donnell Goes Broadway
The TV comic heads back to the stage after a decade
Rosie O'Donnell will soon be shouting from the rooftops of Minskoff Theatre. The 12-time Emmy winner will join five-time Tony winner Harvey Fierstein in Broadway's Fiddler on the Roof September 20.
The former talk show host will take on the role of Tevye's (Fierstein) wife Golde, who helps her husband marry off his three oldest daughters in an attempt to uphold the family's Jewish traditions in Russia.
Though O'Donnell and Fierstein have never worked together, they are far from strangers.
In a statement, Feirstein said of O'Donnell "As a 20-year friend of Rosie's, I couldn't be happier that we will finally share a stage together."
